Phillips 66 congratulates Cullen Jones, who qualified this past week for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swim Team. Jones will swim in three events (50M and 100M freestyle and 400M freestyle relay) later this month when the Games begin in London on July 27. Jones previously won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Since 2009, Jones has worked with Phillips 66 as the spokesperson for the Make a Splash Tour with Cullen Jones presented by Phillips 66. Make a Splash is a national child-focused water safety initiative that offers free or discounted swimming lessons.
Since its inception, the program has reached 1.2 million children in 47 states with life-saving swim lessons. The Makes a Splash Tour, which visits six cities every summer, is designed to educate parents, kids and communities about the importance of learning to swim. The 2012 Tour will resume in August with stops in Chicago, IL, Des Moines, IA and Salinas, CA.
In 2013, Phillips 66 will celebrate 40 years of partnering with USA Swimming. In that time, the company’s contributions have supported the USA Swimming community through the National Championships and other international competitions, publication of club development materials, and other areas.
