Phillips 66’s Selenium Removal Technology
Phillips 66 has developed a new sorbent-based technology that is proving to be a very cost-effective solution for refineries facing challenges in meeting their selenium discharge limits. Existing technologies for selenium removal are complex, costly and usually inadequate, especially considering the likelihood that regulations controlling selenium discharge will continue to tighten.
Phillips 66’s SeRT® technology is a simple, fixed-bed process that looks and runs like many other refinery processes. SeRT® technology is not manpower intensive, plus it incorporates simple chemistry. Both translate into low-cost, long run-time operations.
