The Beast

  • Why is your car hard working?:My car runs over 1200 miles a week to and from work and 80 miles for groceries. It was my ambulance when I was hit by a drunk driver; pulls stumps, hauls dogs, constructions materials & feed to our farm, and neighbors home thru snow & ice.
  • Scars or Dents?:Oh yeah! The front driving lights are out; the bumper has lost all of its moorings; and all the strips on the windows are coming off. The windshield is cracked; one window sticks; and the upholstery is coming off the seats.
  • Turn ons:Just like the energizer bunny, it keeps on going. Through floods, ice storms; deer running the road or anything else, the Beast has never let me down. Since I'm disabled and can't walk anywhere, that's HUGE! The cruise control is what let me drive.
  • Turn offs:No AC, so it's blazing hot in summer. No music whatsoever. The glove box is always falling open whenever I turn. The vacuum hose squeals most of the time; and I get tired of having to check the oil whenever I fill up.
  • Favorite Song:How do you like me Now? by Toby Keith
  • Favorite Sign:"Dead End Road." Put next to it by an enterprising farmer: "Good news, God allows "U" turns!" Too funny - but true.
  • Greatest Accomplishment:Getting 6 people home through a flood that ended up taking out most of the country roads for 20 miles around; and raising 4 kids and 7 foster kids to be decent human beings
  • Favorite Color:Forest Green – although I somehow always end up with red cars!
