Seeking engineers: Ages 12 and under
Eager children are working against the clock to assemble the perfect “rocket-powered” car. They are putting into practice newly learned principles of aerodynamics, momentum and gravity, and gaining a feel for engineering before completing elementary school.
Every year, Educating Engineering Kids (EEK) Day brings together elementary schoolchildren in North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, to act as Phillips 66 engineers. Dressed in lab coats and safety glasses, they participate in hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education projects guided by Phillips 66 employee mentors.
Watch as these future energy leaders discover their inner engineer.
