Ironton: Stronger Than A Hurricane
A year after a devastating storm, a small Louisiana community has rebounded with help from its neighbors at Phillips 66.
It’s been more than a year since Hurricane Isaac tore through southeast Louisiana, flooding much of the low-lying region, including the Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery and its next door neighbor, the community of Ironton. Ironton was almost destroyed by Hurricane Katrina several years earlier, and after Isaac, many residents considered moving elsewhere.
Today, with a little help from Phillips 66, Ironton is not just back, it's better. At Phillips 66, we share a commitment to providing energy and improving lives, especially in the communities where we live and work. Ironton, Louisiana, is one of those places – a community that through hard work, resilience and resourcefulness has proved -- it’s stronger than a hurricane.
