Just in time for Inclusion and Diversity Week at Phillips 66, the Employee Resource Groups are rolling out refreshed logos and welcoming new sponsors.
“It’s exciting to see our ERGs come together in a harmonized way, yet still emphasize their uniqueness,” said Sonya Reed, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Communications. “They continue to play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive environment and fostering a sense of belonging in our workplace.”
The Brand team partnered with multiple groups across the company — including the individual ERGs and the Inclusion and Diversity team — to develop the logos, which build brand awareness while maintaining each ERG’s uniqueness.
“The new logos are a visual representation of community and connection at Phillips 66,” said Rametha Nair, Strategy Director and co-lead of the Houston Asian American Network. “I hope employees see the logos as an extension of building an inclusive, welcoming environment.”
New leaders offer unique perspectives
Six ERGs recently welcomed new sponsors, prompted in part by several retirements. Each ERG is led by an executive champion and supported by local and global executive leadership. Periodic rotations in leadership — such as Brian Mandell, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Commercial, moving to Pride Network from the Veterans Network — allow for the sharing of new and different perspectives.
“This is a bittersweet move in that I have personally and professionally gained so much from my time with the Veterans Network,” said Mandell. “I am looking forward to learning more and actively engaging with Pride members. We have made a great deal of progress as a company, and we remain diligent in our efforts to create an inclusive environment where diversity in all its forms can thrive.”
The changes come as Phillips 66 gets set to celebrate Inclusion and Diversity Week, an annual week spearheaded by a group of employee volunteers in partnership with Corporate I&D and the ERGs.
